MY LEGACY

In the year of 1980, the 25th of July
Momma didn't know she birthed a blessing in disguise
She did the best she could I admit she tried
But this Lil indigo kid, still had to run around wild
Give me a inch I took a mile
God bless this little child
Momma prayed as she waited for me to come home
Dreading the sound of a ringing telephone
But I knew God, always had me
I was just blinded but now I see
But God and faith is what you instilled in me
I paid more attention then you thought so to speak
I learned life on a street level
I got a couple of secrets but I'll never share em
Street and book smarts is a deadly weapon
And the G code and loyalty I've forever keep them
Then I took a window seat
The surreal life featuring me
And some things I wasn't quit pleased
So I rectified them and burdens started to release
You see in my heart the whole time I held the key
I unlocked it and know I have my serenity
You want to talk about feeling free
While sipping wine from that old knowledge tree
Divine wisdom blessed and bestowed upon me
Back by popular demand on God's most trusted committee
And when I walk around my shadow count is three
For my persistence to soul's devotion
Can a get a Aman I second that motion
I had to fight the heavy tides and currents of the ocean
Therefore I am honored to have been hand picked and chosen
With all the odds against me
Plus my family thought I was crazy
But the truth is right there it's not hard to find
I didn't loose it I actually found my mind
And the more you doubt me the harder I shine
Thank God for the wounded healer for a second time
And standing in the truth is where I draw the line
Insinuate all you want go ahead laugh it's fine
Hold on to your pride cause with it I'll make a mockery
When your kids read about me in history
Or watch my documentary on TV
But you'll have front row seats
On my footstool to witness the birth of a legacy
